Hailing from the Norfolk village of Worstead, worsted woolās tightly packed fibres make it durable and weather resilient, springing back into shape after washing or a good soaking in a storm. Guernseys were originally knitted by the wives, mothers and sweethearts of fishermen and farmers to stave off bracing winds and rain. Le Tricoteur make the original Guernsey and is the only company still using hand knitters making 100% worsted wool garments- even the linking is wool and not cotton. All garments come with a signed declaration showing who has worked on every stage of the manufacture. Every jumper is knit fully formed so they can be mended and don't fall apart if they catch or pull. Women: please size up by 2 inches on your usual chest size. ForĀ a looser baggier fit size up + 4 inches. Men: please size up by 2 inches, or 4 inches for a looser fit.
